We are delighted to invite you to the Opening Night of the Millennium Festival on March 28, 2024, at 7:30 PM at Flagey, where we will be screening the documentary A Song for my Land by Mauricio Albornoz Iniesta, a film that perfectly aligns with our values. The film takes us into the story of Ramiro Lezcano, an Argentine music teacher determined to protect his students and their environment in the face of a major ecological crisis.
Through this powerful story, we will reflect on a better future for our planet and the actions we must take to achieve it. The story defends our fundamental rights and highlights the importance of citizen action and the solidarity needed to tackle global ecological challenges. A true call for collective engagement to preserve our world and its inhabitants.
Mauricio Albornoz Iniesta, the director, will be present to share his experience and message of hope. This will also be an opportunity to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the United Nations, a crucial moment to remind us of their role in promoting peace and sustainable development. The opening ceremony highlight the power of art in an ideological struggle. Before the screening of A Song for My Land, Charlie Chaplin’s final speech in The Great Dictator will resonate on the big screen, echoing his call for a fairer world.
Additionally, the Honorary President of this edition, Ken Loach, will deliver a special message on the importance of culture in times of crisis.
The evening will continue with a convivial cocktail, offering the chance to discuss and exchange ideas with the speakers and other guests. Don’t miss this exceptional evening marking the start of an unmissable event.
