Synopsis
The film tells the story of family Ovetchkin, a small family orchestra of seven brothers who are gifted in jazz and glorified by the Russian nomenklatura. On 8 March 1988, the seven Siméon and their mother hijacked an airplane to flee to the West. Their attempt resulted in the death of nine family members and spared only two children. This documentary not only depicts the fascination for the West but also the impossibility of personal fulfilment in a totalitarian regime.
