Synopsis
There are more than 150,000 of them in Dakar alone. Young female domestics, most of them outrageously underpaid and overworked, sending their few wages back to their villages. Le Monologue de la muette is an account of this contemporary form of slavery, and of one girl in particular, who speaks for others like her, vulnerable and invisible.
