Synopsis
In Thiaroye, near Dakar, Joris Lachaise looks back at the life of and with the writer and filmmaker Khady Sylla in the national psychiatric hospital, where she has been admitted several times. Through her story and the people she meets, we discover that, in Senegal, psychiatric problems can be cured alternatively, whether with traditional or modern medicine. By approaching Khady Sylla, the director opens a window on Senegal as it is today, after the decolonization and its effects on psychiatry.
