Synopsis

Once upon a time, there were Pipa & Nona, my grandparents. The story of a close-knit couple in which each finds in the other the motivation to move forward in their daily lives. This documentary offers a magical travel through time and highlights a life story in which death is countered.

Director's Biography

Marie Christiaens was born on 14 May 1996 in Anderlecht, Belgium. After studying speech therapy for two years at the Université libre de Bruxelles, she developed an interest in filmmaking by starting a bachelor’s degree in production and filmmaking assistanship at the Haute École Libre de Bruxelles Ilya Prigogine. During her three years of study, she produced her fiction film “Tournesol” as part of her graduation project. She also made a documentary about her grandparents, “Pipa & Nona”. Having just graduated, these are her first short films.
