Synopsis

Andres, born to Colombian political exiles in Belgium, embarks on a journey to his home country. Nurtured by his parents' stories since childhood, he undertakes an adolescent quest that exposes him to the realities of a country he had previously dreamed and idealized.

Director's Biography

Jonathan BRICHEUX: Jonathan Bricheux began his relationship with images in 2005 with photography. He uses film as his medium. In 2012, he carried out a photographic study of the socio-political issues surrounding gold mining in Colombia. On his return, he began training as a video artist at the Agnès Varda School of Photography and Visual Techniques in Brussels. His interest in Colombia and the struggles being waged there only grew.
In 2018 he was sent there as an international observer for that year's presidential elections.
In 2016, he began work on his first feature-length documentary, Las montañas de mis padres, which he directed and produced. The film was released in November 2023.
