Synopsis

After more than a hundred years of service, the ancient Brussels prison will be completely empty. How will the inmates, staff and various social players cope with this radical change from a prison built on an almost medieval model to an ultra-modern prison?

Director's Biography

Jean-Benoît UGEUX: Jean-Benoît Ugeux was born in Belgium in 1975. He is a Belgian writer, actor and director of theatre and film. He studied at the University of Louvain-la-Neuve, where he obtained a Master's degree in Romance Literature and Philosophy. Between 1996 and 1999, he studied at the Conservatoire de Liège in Theatre section and then between 2000 and 2002 in the Electro-Acoustic Music section. He also attended the "École de maîtres" with Rodrigo García.
Alongside his acting career, he started directing in 2012 and has made VALEURS (an experimental triptych), Eastpak, La musique, Abada, Belgium-20, Fratres and Arbres.
Today he is interested in both fiction and documentary. In addition to writing a feature film, he shot a documentary on the relocation of the Brussels prison.
