Ken Loach, legendary British filmmaker and two-time Palme d’Or winner (in 2006 for The Wind That Shakes the Barley and in 2016 for I, Daniel Blake), served as Honorary President of the Millenium Festival for its 17th edition. Renowned for his deep social and political commitment, he explores powerful themes such as social injustice, economic inequality, and workers’ rights, while denouncing the failings of contemporary society.
Sharing the values upheld by the Millenium Festival, Ken Loach expressed his support by sending a special and exclusive message that was broadcast during the Opening Ceremony.
Due to a recent accident, he was unfortunately unable to attend the festival in person, but he recorded an enriching masterclass, offering the audience an opportunity to benefit from his expertise and unique cinematic vision.
