As part of the 17th edition of the Millenium Festival, we had the honor of welcoming Carmen Chaplin, filmmaker and granddaughter of the iconic Charlie Chaplin, for the screening of her fascinating documentary CHAPLIN | SPIRIT OF THE TRAMP. Through unprecedented access to Charlie Chaplin’s legacy, the film unveils a lesser-known aspect of his life: his Romani roots and the profound influence they had on the creation of his legendary character, The Tramp.
Featuring exclusive interviews, rare footage, and testimonies from contemporary Roma artists, CHAPLIN | SPIRIT OF THE TRAMP delves into the deep identity of a man whose legacy still resonates today. An intimate and unique journey into the world of one of the greatest filmmakers of all time.
Following the screening, Carmen Chaplin took part in a Q&A session, offering the audience a privileged insight into the genesis of her project and the fascinating connections between her grandfather’s life and his art.
