Addio Addio Amore

75 years ago, Italy, then ruined by war, and Belgium signed an agreement to exchange labor for coal. Then began an unprecedented wave of immigration in our country in which women and girls played an essential role in the success of Italian integration. They tell us their story, the stories of women who one day came to join their husbands, without ever giving up their roots and their culture.

Passionate about photography, Jean-Michel Dehon has directed numerous cultural and investigative programs for the RTBF. Born in the Borinage, a mining region of Belgium, his film “Addio Addio Amore” is a personal and touching documentary on a subject he knows by heart.
