Synopsis
When a world collapses, a mere call for justice can often become an act of bravery. In the Kazakh steppes of the early 90s, a man is trying to get what is owed to him. Herder for an old kolkhoz, Abel comes up against the harshness of a changing world : the fall of the USSR made way to a brutal form of capitalism, where corruption and the arbitrary dominate, and human dignity suddenly seems negotiable.
A tale that strikes by its visual power and its uncompromising take on the devaluation of the individual. Although it remains deeply rooted in a specific cultural context, this movie lays on the unique voice of a filmmaker mindful of those forgotten by history.
