More than 10 years after Hurricane Katrina - the deadliest hurricane in US history - struck, New Orleans is being rebuilt. Under such emergency conditions, the town is experiencing of the effects of capitalism combined with this unprecedented disaster and symbolises a country where the gap between the rich and the poor is still widening.
Alexandra Kandy longuet was born in Paris. She graduated from the University Paris 3 - Sorbonne nouvelle and from the École Nationale Supérieure d’Arts in Paris-Cergy. She took part in several exhibitions in Paris, Then went to live in Russia and Argentina. Once back in Europe, she studied at the Belgian cinema school, IAD, and worked with RTBF and France Culture. As she left, her first film, received awards at several festivals. She has written many film and radio documentaries and works with the Rêvages theatre company on a regular basis.
