A codebreaker genius, a revolutionary surveillance program, and corruption across the board of NSA. Against this backdrop unfolds the feature documentary A Good American. The film tells the story of Bill Binney and his program ThinThread and how this perfect alternative to mass surveillance got ditched by NSA for money – 3 weeks prior to 9/11.
Friedrich Moser is a producer, director and director of photography (DoP), with a postgraduate degree (MA) in History and German Studies from the University of Salzburg in Austria. Friedrich started his professional career as a TV journalist and editor in Bolzano-Bozen, Italy. In 2001, he founded blue+green communication and has made over 20 documentaries in the past years, most of them as producer/director/DoP. In 2008 he attended the Documentary Campus at the European Masterschool for nonfiction filmmaking. Friedrich’s professional career also includes lecturing on history and documentaries at the University of Vienna’s Department of Economic and Social History, as well as teaching video production at the Secondary School.
