Synopsis

What makes us boys is a poetic documentary that follows 14-year-old Daan and his 11-year-old brother Sam, who grow up in a typical Dutch residential area.

The film paints the intimate portrait of two brothers who find support in each other in a life that is not always easy. When Daan is done with primary school and moves up into secondary school, Sam is left alone in primary school and their relationship is really put to the test.
