International Competition

Golden Objective (Best Film)

  • BLACK WATER by Natxo Leuza

A well-structured and balanced film that presents a panorama of serious, unresolved development challenges, worsened by climate change and its present and future consequences. The film serves as a call to reconnect with human solidarity and to reduce the growing inequalities between people and countries.

Silver Objective (Best Film on Sustainable Development)

  • THE LAST PARADISE ON EARTH by Sakaris Fríði Stórá

The Last Paradise on Earth was selected because, through the perspective of Kari, the main character, it reveals the challenges of confronting life in an isolated territory, whose balance has been profoundly disrupted by climate change and the arrival of new technologies gradually replacing the work of the island’s inhabitants.

Bronze Objective (Best Film on Human Rights)

  • A FOX UNDER A PINK MOON by Mehrdad Oskouei, Soraya Akhlaghi

Driven by the power of her imagination and guided by the best intentions, Soraya fights for a better future, away from oppression and violence against women, seeking freedom and hope. A Fox Under a Pink Moon is a universal, original, and authentic story, both poignant and beautifully filmed, depicting exile, borders, and mountains, while finding moments of happiness through music and creativity.

Special Jury Prize (Most Original and Innovative Film)

  • IRON WINTER by Kasimir Burgess

“The film focuses on two young men chosen to look after a winter herd of 2,000 horses. With rare anthropological depth and striking poetic force, it offers a solemn contemplation of survival, dignity, and commitment. More than a documentary on Mongolian herders, it stands as a universal testament to the shared destiny of humanity.”

Special Jury Mention

  • ANDRÉ IS AN IDIOT by Tonny Benna

The jury awarded a Special Mention to André Is an Idiot for its unique blend of sharp humor and poignant drama, and for telling a deeply moving, personally engaging story of a man choosing to live the final chapter of his life on his own terms. The film reminds us that even in the face of death, life can still be embraced with humor, courage, and sincerity.

Cinéfemme Award

  • A FOX UNDER A PINK MOON by Mehrdad Oskouei, Soraya Akhlaghi

The CinéFemme Jury decided to award this prize to a film made under extraordinary conditions, highlighting the remarkable journey of a young girl with exemplary perseverance and inner freedom. Through a story of pain and suffering, the film demonstrates how imagination and artistic creation can offer salvation and personal growth.

BeTV Award (€3,500 distribution rights)

  • ANDRÉ IS AN IDIOT by Tonny Benna

“The portrait of an utterly unconventional character who humorously helps us distance ourselves from our troubles and better embrace life’s finitude.” We warmly thank BeTV for their support.

Young Vision Competition

  • GERMAINE ACOGNY by Greta-Marie Becker

The Young Jury Award was granted by a jury of young spectators. It highlights a work that resonates with the concerns and sensibilities of the younger generation, thanks to the strength of its message and the originality of its perspective.

Belgian Competition

Best Belgian Director

  • GRANDIR by Géraldine Doignon

Grandir is a sincere and unadorned film that goes straight to the heart of its subject: human connection. With sensitivity, Géraldine Doignon portrays two young women seeking direction after an abandoned childhood. Close to them and without judgment, the film follows their doubts, questions, and determination. A film whose fragility is its strength, like its heroines.

Best Socially Engaged Film, supported by the Municipality of Ixelles

  • LES VIES D’ANDRÈS by Baptiste Janon & Rémi Pons

Andrès is a fictional hero with a thousand faces—the faces of truck drivers who go unseen, finally brought into focus by the film. After sharing their daily lives, the directors give these workers a voice through an original approach, revealing extremely harsh working conditions. For the mastery of its storytelling, the accuracy of its portraits, and its spotlight on often-overlooked realities.

Author-Producer Award, supported by SCAM (€2,000)

  • L’EXTRAORDINAIRE VOYAGE DE MISTER JACK by Sarah Moon Howe

Jack takes us, along with his mother and Baba, on an extraordinary bike journey from Brussels to Paris. Film after film, Sarah Moon Howe portrays life with a child with disabilities, marked by struggle, lack of support, and immense tenderness. Here, she embraces the challenge set by her son, creating with him a free, funny, and profoundly human film. A luminous story, both moving and socially engaged, carried by energy and contagious joy.

Young Belgian Talents Competition

Cinergie Award for Young Belgian Talents

  • SUJET SENSIBLE by Nina Hamzeh & Mathis Albet

“The Cinergie editors who gathered to select their prize among the Young Belgian Talents highlighted the originality of the subject, its relevance in a world where women still have to fight for respect, and the inventiveness of its treatment, awarding the prize to Sujet Sensible by Nina Hamzeh & Mathis Albet.”
