Synopsis

The documentary reveals the existence of modern slavery on the island of Sumba, Indonesia. While investigating a case of human trafficking, local activist Jeremy Kewuan meets a Maramba chaman who firmly believes in his ancestral right to own slaves. Then appears an 8-year-old enslaved girl. After countless clashes with slavers and tribal leaders, Jeremy finally manages to secure the young girl’s freedom.
