Synopsis

Lola grew up in a brothel. For a long time, she carried this secret. Today, she talks about the time she used to steal girls’ lipstick.

“Lola”, an intimate documentary, is the first part of the radio triptych “Is this how men live?” which offers three perspectives on women’s lives: “Lola”, “Casting”, “Anna’s perspective”.

Director’s bio

Paola Stévenne lives and works in Brussels. After studying philosophy at the ULB, she studied directing at Insas. She writes, directs and produces documentary films and radio for fiction and documentary. Engaged in collective fighting, she is the current president of the Scam. She also created the professional association of radio authors (Asar). Since 2017, she has been a member of the editorial board of the Revue Nouvelle, where she publishes her articles. His work is broadcast on RTBF, Arte, La Première, France Culture, Radio Zinzine and RAI as well as in the Filmer à tout prix festivals, Marseille, Foix, Valparaiso, Santiago de Chile, Havana, Buenos Aires.
