Synopsis

It all starts with photos of a family. A family we don’t know, but which we feel we do know. At the center: this boy. Who is he? What is his story?

And what if each individual was also the unwitting hero of a fairy tale? A dizzying family investigation, where reality and fiction mingle, sometimes to the point of merging.

In the presence of the directors.

Director's Biography

After a brief stint in television in the 1980s, Zabou Breitman began her film career in “Elle voit des nains partout!”, and subsequently collaborated with major filmmakers such as Diane Kurys, Henri Verneuil, Philippe Lioret, Pierre Jolivet, Michel Deville, Pierre Schoeller, and Nicolas Bedos. While continuing her acting career on stage and screen, she directed various theater plays and made her feature film directorial debut in 2001 with “Se Souvenir des belles choses” , which won the César Award for Best First Film. This was followed by “L’Homme de sa vie”, “Je l’aimais” , “No et moi”, the series “Paris etc.”, and “Les Hirondelles de Kaboul” , which was selected for Un Certain Regard at Cannes 2019. She was recently seen in “Murder Party” by Nicolas Pleskof.

Florent Vassault is a film director and editor. He co-directed Honk (2011) with Arnaud Gaillard, a film that addresses the issue of the death penalty in the United States. In 2017, with Lindy Lou, Juror Number 2, he continued this reflection on capital punishment. Florent Vassault received a César Award nomination for Best Film Editing in 2020 for his work with Anny Danché on La Belle Époque by Nicolas Bedos.
