The Millenium Festival is coming to Antwerp for the first time and will take place at UGC Antwerp, with an exclusive selection of socially engaged films from around the world that address the major challenges of our time.
The program features fourteen films, accompanied by meetings with directors and producers, offering audiences the opportunity to discover the richness and diversity of these cinematic voices.
Audiences in Antwerp will also be able to discover Flemish films that have already made their mark at international festivals: Slave Island by Jimmi Hendrickx & Jeremy Kewuan, Kabul Between Prayers by Aboozar Amini, and Grand Me by Atiye Zare Arandi—three films that explore different realities and stories.
Among the international titles presented is Silent Friend by Ildikó Enyedi, which received the FIPRESCI Prize and the Marcello Mastroianni Award for young actress Luna Wedler at the Venice International Film Festival.
The festival will open with In Hell with Ivo by Kristina Nikolova, a provocative film carried by one of the most visionary queer artists of his generation, raising a disturbing question: “Where would you rather go: to hell with Jesus or to heaven with Trump?”
Finally, with films such as Love-22-Love and André Is an Idiot, the festival invites audiences to rediscover their inner potential, overcome anxiety, and regain a taste for life.
