On the occasion of Disability Awareness Week, we invite you to a film screening and discussion of En attendant Zorro by Sarah Moon Howe.
What if everyday heroes didn’t wear masks, but carried backpacks instead?
In En attendant Zorro, the director takes us into the private lives of families with children with severe disabilities, supported by Lucas, a dynamic and indispensable educator. The film shows how patience, energy, and humanity can transform their daily lives.
After the screening, Sarah Moon Howe and Lucas Palisse will answer your questions and share their approach to helping people with disabilities gain greater autonomy, independence, and social inclusion.
SYNOPSIS
Within the private walls of their homes, parents of children with severe disabilities hope for a place in care and support services. In the meantime, they struggle to cope with daily challenges and behavioral difficulties. Amid this existential struggle, the film follows Lucas, a specialized educator who, sometimes guided by the hospital, visits families at home and tries to support them. Bursting with energy and optimism, Lucas helps these overwhelmed families build a more manageable life while they wait for the structural solutions that are slow to arrive.
