In a film made entirely of interviews and film recordings meticulously compiled by Tarkovsky’s son, this documentary offers a crucial reflection on the art and artist’s role in our era. It is more than a son’s tribute to his father, but  a great introduction to the work of one of the best directors to have ever lived and a piece of art that will ravish Tarkovsky’s fans.

These preserved recordings of Tarkovsky’s voice, take us through Tarkovsky’s spoken memories on various subjects, from the importance of religion and spirituality, film critics, to  the distinction between cinema from other art forms, working with actors, and the artists he admired. He also explores matters such as making films in the Soviet Union, the difficulty of deciding whether or not to stay in the West, and finally death.
