Synopsis
“I didn’t become a calypso singer, I was born in Calypso”, says Calypso Rose. This film is first an intimate portrait of the great diva of Calypso, but it is also a journey that brings us to the Tobago Island (the idyllic island of Robinson Crusoe), in New York, Paris, Ouidah and Cotonou. Each of these destinations makes us discover a particular episode of the life of Rose. Calypso Rose reveals herself: she tells about her childhood, what inspires her, her career, her commitment to humanitarian causes and the progress of women rights… but also the faith that guides her life and has a major importance for her artistic development.
