Millenium Festival and the City of Brussels invite you for the Fortnight of International Solidarity at the screening of Welcome to Sodom by Florian Weigensamer and Christian Krönes.

 

 

The winner of our 2019 edition impressed the jury because "it reflects the tragic outcome of our consumerism and addresses universal issues regarding pollution, consumption, migration and child labor".

 

 

 

Synopsis:
Sodom is like a Beast. "Sometimes you kill the Beast. Sometimes the Beast kills you.” Agbogbloshie, Accra is proven to be one of the most poisonous places on Earth. It is the largest electronic waste dump in the world. About 6.000 women, men and children live and work here. They call it Sodom. Every year about 250.000 tons of sorted out computers, smartphones, air conditions tanks and other devices from a far away electrified and digitalized world end up here. Shipped to Ghana illegally.
