The festival reveals its first secrets

We prepared a rich and varied programme of 80 films from all over the world. As every year, we invite you to different places in Brussels : Bozar, Cinéma Galerie, Vendôme, Aventure et le Palace.

This year again, we are organizing a panorama "Docs for climate", with films dealing with various current environmental issues.

Here are a few titles to give you a taste of what's in store for you :

  • Honeyland - by Ljubomir Stefanov et Tamara Kotevska
The story of a woman living alone with her ailing mother in a deserted village in the heights of Macedonia. As a beekeeper, her life is regulated by the honey harvest and is in perfect balance with the surrounding environment. The arrival of a nomadic Turkish family disrupts this harmony.
  • Lords of water - by Jérôme Fritel
With global warming and population growth, the demand for water is exploding. Behind-the-scenes investigation of the blue gold market.

A second panorama we've planned will be on the Whistleblowers. Freedom of expression, the right to information and thus support for investigative journalists and whistleblowers are fundamental to the Millennium Festival. We believe it is our duty to pay tribute to those citizens who dare to act and denounce.
This panorama will present :

  • Never Whistle Alone - by Marco Ferrari
In Italy, corruption creates an annual deficit of 100 billion euros. Marco Ferrari gathers the testimonies of 7 whistleblowers and denounces, the systemic corruption of the country. A film that, thanks to its stylised reconstructions, takes on the allure of a thriller to narrate the courage of these citizens in the face of the threats and pressures of a criminal system.

  • Silence Radio - by Juliana Fanjul
Join the fight of Carmen Aristegui, a Mexican journalist who defends the right to information and journalistic transparency despite the dangers in a society where corruption is rampant.

As usual, majors debates will take place, in the presence of directors and experts.

The Millenium Festival is a place of exchange, meetings, festive, musical and artistic moments !

We will reveal more information very soon. Stay tuned !
