In one of the most magnificent places on the planet, an extraordinary rescue mission is trying to halt an impending disaster. In the Gulf of California, poaching threatens the vaquita, the world's smallest harbour porpoise, which is on the verge of extinction. To save it and bring those responsible for the disaster to justice, a team of leading scientists, environmental advocates, investigative journalists and Mexican naval agents are willing to risk their lives. They will have to confront dangerous Mexican cartels as well as Chinese traffickers whose devastating poaching methods are endangering marine life in the region.
