Belgian Competition Human Rights Work Women's Rights Belgian Cinema

Synopsis :

In a training center for house work, like many others in the Philippines, candidates who are about to leave prepare themselves for the homesickness and mistreatment that could occur overseas. They do so by “pre-enacting” the abuse they will likely face in their deployment across the world.

Overseas brings to light the question of domestic slavery in our globalized world, while emphasizing these womens’ determination, their sisterhood, and their strategies they find to face the obstacles that awaits them in the near future.
