Romania is changing, and Geo, a young Romani coppersmith, lacks the means to support his wife and his 6-year-old son. The farmers from the surrounding villages do not buy his copper handmade objects anymore. For Geo and his wife, Marina, going abroad is their final option.
Born in 1968 in Romania, Cosmin Bumbut is a freelance photographer. For 15 years, he worked as a fashion and advertising photographer for Elle, Marie Claire and other famous brands. When he was 40, he decided to work only on the subjects he liked most: photo essays about people who have impressive stories and an important message to spread. In December 2013, he moved into a camper together with journalist Elena Stancu and started travelling around Romania in order to work on long-form journalism projects.
Born in 1982 in Romania, Elena Stancu is an independent journalist. Her first pieces focus on domestic violence, human trafficking, the Romanian prison system, education and the integration of minorities.
