This film takes place in the farming region of Quang Nam, a couple miles from of Da Nang, the site of an American naval base during the Vietnam War, where bloody fights occurred. Today, the government decided to modernize the entire coastal area and to establish large tourist complexes, forcing farmers to leave their land. In the town of Dien Ngoc, farmers, most of whom participated in the fight for liberation, had to sell their rice fields where U.S. investors have built a golf course.
