In 2014, Brazil hosted the football World Cup. An estimated 3 million tourists, including 600,000 foreigners, attended this event and circulated among the 12 host cities. Fans from around the world who expected to live the grandest World Cup in football country. But Brazilians have they shared this enthusiasm? For who is really the World Cup? Survey the twelve host cities, Fortaleza, capital of Ceara, one of the poorest states of Brazil. A city that perfectly illustrates the paradoxes of this country. Beyond its lush coastline, its resorts and idyllic beaches, Fortaleza is also hundreds of street children, favelas and sex tourism. A dark reality that does not fit the image that Brazil wants to sell to tourists and international media. For the World Cup, the makeup of the town began...
